The second goal for América came in the 63rd minute when Isaías Violante, the right-winger, seized a rebound after his shot hit the right post. The goal left the Timbers trailing 2-1. Finally, in the 88th minute, Óscar Perea finished a breakaway run with a shot that curled into the corner, sealing the 3-1 victory.
